Farley is hosting her monthly Linky Party!
Check out Currently February:
As many of you know, I'm preggers (due in April). Therefore, my hubby and I are staying in a lot more than we usually do and watching lots of TV! We've watched Breaking Bad (all five seasons) and Homeland (just starting season two). We also watch lots of documentaries on Netflix. We found a great one the other night that I'd like to recommend. It's called "American Teacher" (2011), and it follows the lives and experiences of four teachers. It's only about 80 minutes long, so check it out if you have some free time! Matt Damon narrates the documentary so enjoy that! =)
On another note, did you hear about the Sunday Super Sale over at TpT!?!
Everything in my store will be on sale for 28% off! Yippee!! I know I'll be shopping for lots of activities for the month of February, spring time writing activities, more clip art, and some center activities!
Last but not least, I just added a great resource to my store called Sweet Sentences Mega Pack! It's only $4.00 and contains 56 pages of grammar and writing activities to help young writers grasp the concepts of complete vs. incomplete sentences. There are posters, activities for literacy stations and small groups, printables for independent practice, and whole group lessons. Check out a few examples below:
{CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.1.1j and CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.2.1f}
Leave a comment below about writing instruction in your classroom (also include your e-mail), and I'll choose a few lucky winners to receive the Sweet Sentences Mega Pack for FREE! :)
There's a sale tomorrow? I've got to go! My neice, Liz, just had a baby yesterday! It's such an exciting time. I hope all goes well these last months! I'm your newest follower!

ReplyDeleteYour Sweet Sentences pack looks great! My resource center 3rd graders could definitely benefit from those activities.. I'm still reminding them about capitals and periods!

I can't wait to check out that movie. I don't have cable now and Netflix is my best friend! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new delivery in April!! I would love to have your new pack on sentences. 2nd graders have so much difficulty with that! We teach writing daily for 45 minutes - 15 minutes on mechanics and 30 minutes on the art of writing. Thanks for this freebie offer.

I would love to win your sentence writing pack. I am working with our intervention students and they are really struggling with the most basic of writing skills. This looks like a great resource. Hope everything goes well these next few months...such an exciting time!

Thank you for this opportunity.
ReplyDeleteMy homeschooled little one really struggles with writing. She has sensory processing disorder and non-verbal learning disorder so finds it difficult to arrange and translate her thoughts to the page. And she fatigues easily. I am always interested in new / different methodologies and motivators.Mmmmm..... chocolate dessert.... thursdaytook@hotmail.com
What a wonderful pack! I would love to use it with my students.
ReplyDeleteHey Liz,
ReplyDeleteI found you through the linky.
I use mentor sentences to teach writing sentences because I teach 4th and hopefully they SHOULD know sentence basics. I blogged about mentor sentences recently if you want more info...
The mega pack looks great!!

ReplyDeleteThe sentence mega pack looks wonderful! I always feel like I "pick and grab" many activities for writing, never finding something that covers all the bases. This is an area I am working on this year.

My kiddos really need to work on stretching sentences! I would love a copy of this. I'm a first year teacher and feeling like writing is very hard to teach. This would come in handy! wiardmolly@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteYour Sweet Sentence Mega Pack looks jammed packed with some great activities. My first graders could definitely use this during their Work on Writing activities. Thanks for the giveaway!

I am a follower. You sentence mega pack looks great and just what my second graders need. We work on editing almost daily and they still forget capitals and punctuation when writing sentences.
