Today, I'm sharing some of our favorite Christmas storybooks. These are perfect for classroom read alouds or bedtime stories by the fire. I hope you will discover a new book to add to your home or classroom library.
Turkey Claus: This is the perfect first Christmas book to read after Thanksgiving. It bridges the two holidays perfectly, and if you've read Silvano's other Turkey books, you know this will be a favorite with the kiddos. Last time I checked, Amazon had the hardcover for $7.99!
'Twas the Night Before Christmas: This updated classic is a must have! You will want to read this beautiful book again and again with your littles!
The Sweet Smell of Christmas: This was my favorite book as a child, and I couldn't wait to share it with my own children. The scratch and sniff pages and sweet simplicity have the kids asking for it regularly.
The Little Reindeer: I just added this treasure to our little library! It's the perfect quiet, magical read aloud or bedtime story on a chilly December night.
Pete the Cat Saves Christmas: For all the Pete the Cat fans out there, check out Pete's adventure to help Santa and save Christmas!
The First Christmas Night: Two years ago, our Elf brought this book upon his arrival. It was a beautiful way to remind the kids of the true reason for the season. It is written in the same format as 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, and the gorgeous illustrations bring the Christmas story to life.
Little Golden Books- Frosty the Snowman and The Christmas Story: Oldies but goodies!
It's Christmas, David!: This may not be riveting classic literature, but it is laugh out loud funny for kiddos. David Shannon sure does have a silly sense of humor.
There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bell: We love all of the Old Lady books! You can usually find this in your Scholastic Book Order for cheap!
The Gingerbread Pirates: This quote from inside the book jacket captures The Gingerbread Pirates perfectly... "This fresh, funny story sparkles with all the excitement of a pirate adventure and all the magic of Christmas morning."
Merry Christmas, Little Critter: Who doesn't love Mercer Mayer's Little Critter? My kiddos especially love the silliness under the lift the flaps.
Merry Christmas, Splat: Fans of Splat the Cat will love this holiday tale!
Thanks for reading! What's your favorite Christmas storybook? Do you have a childhood favorite that your kids love too?
